Dental Implants
Now patients who are missing teeth have a strong, beautiful alternative to bridges, partials, or full dentures. Dallas Dental Implants will improve your smile and your lifestyle. They look, feel, and function like natural teeth because of a titanium anchor attached to the jawbone. Dental Implants" can also anchor bridges, partials, or full dentures to eliminate slipping. According to statistics, Americans will lose an average of 12 teeth by age 50. When you lose permanent teeth, regardless of why or how many, dental implants can offer a "new lease on life." Superior to other choices like bridges, full dentures, or removable partials, an implant actually replicates a tooth root, in both form and function, to solidly anchor a single tooth or multiple-tooth prosthetic. Dental implants feel, function, and look completely natural. They don't slip out of place like traditional dentures, so you'll enjoy renewed ability to eat, talk, and smile with confidence. The Procedure To place dental implants, a small biocompatible titanium post is inserted into the jawbone below the gum surface. With proper use of the newest anesthetics and medications, we can make the minimally invasive procedure comfortable and prompt. During the healing process, bone will naturally fuse with the implant post to create a secure foundation for your single or multiple-tooth restoration. We work with talented ceramists and lab technicians who create restorations and prosthetics from fine dental materials, contoured and shaded to look completely natural. The Benefits The beauty of your new smile will extend below the surface. Without a tooth root, bone will degenerate. Teeth will shift out of place, and cheeks and lips cave inward to make a person look older. Dental implants will give you a strong, lasting foundation for replacement teeth. They'll also replace the underlying structure for your facial features, creating a plumper, younger appearance. After nearly 35 years of use, dental implants have a 90 to 95% proven success rate in appropriately chosen cases. Dental implants also function like natural teeth, so you will be able to enjoy nutritious, hard-to-chew foods, like fresh fruits and vegetables. And you can throw away your denture adhesives because caring for your new implants will involve only the two-step hygiene process that you already perform every day — brushing and flossing. The Consultation Dr. Berland will assess your case to help you decide whether dental implants are right for you. We need to take X-rays, photos, and records to determine your bone density and level of oral health. Dr. Berland will also want to discuss your goals and expectations so that we can deliver the best results for your unique situation. To get started, call today and schedule your dental implantconsultation with Dr. Berland. 3D ImageYour smile...its one of the first things people notice about you. Computer guided dental implant surgeryComputer technology has fueled great advancements in the field of implant dentistry. 3D CT Scans enable us to evaluate each patient’s anatomy in detail. The incorporation of computer aided design – computer aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) technology and computer software for 3D rendering and virtual surgery planning has brought implant dentistry to a new level of predictability. Our Board Certified Periodontist, Dr Margolin, has been placing dental implants while utilizing 3D CT planning software since 1994. After obtaining a scan using our in-office 3D scanner, the data is imported into the planning software. Significant anatomical landmarks such as nerves and sinuses can be traced and labeled. Virtual implant surgery can then be done on the patient’s CT scan. Ideal position and size of implants can be determined and checked from multiple perspectives. After ideal implant positions are determined, the dental restorations can be built virtually in the software to ensure the implants are positioned correctly to enable proper esthetics and function for the future teeth. We even take the extra step of having multiple computer graphics rendered of each guided surgery plan to ensure the best possible accuracy before proceeding to the final planning phase. If these graphics are approved, the next step is the fabrication of the guided surgery stent. For many years we have been able to analyze patients’ anatomy using CT Scans and to plan surgery using CT planning software, but translating the information from the computer into the patients’ mouth was the missing link. With the incorporation of CAD-CAM technology, we have been able to bridge that gap. CAD-CAM technology has enabled a computer to take the plan from our software and fabricate an extremely accurate guide that simply snaps over the patient’s teeth and ensures that implants are placed exactly where we planned them on the patient’s CT Scan. There are many benefits to computer guided surgery which can include:
